Dolly-Parton

Born on Jan. 19th of 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poor family that would eventually comprise 12 kids Dolly Parton learned early to get away from the struggles of living through her vibrant and expansive imagination. Prior to learning how to write or read she wrote her own songs. After 8 years of age, she got her first guitar. In the age of 11, she began to sing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. That same the year that Gold Band Records was a small independent record label. Her name was made in the local scene while at high school, but always dreamed of having a bigger stage. The singer moved to Nashville following her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner began looking for women to sing for his TV show syndicated by a network at approximately the exact as the time. Parton signed with RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She accepted her job in 1967. But she resigned from the show in 1974, as her own albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were charting collaborations with them. Parton composed "I will Always Be Loving You" for Wagoner soon after their split. The song hit the top spot at No. For the first time, in 1974.
